TECNO has officially confirmed what POVA fans in Pakistan have been asking about for more than two years: the POVA is coming back. The comeback phone is the POVA Curve 2 5G, and TECNO has announced that it will launch in Pakistan on October 15, ending one of the longest-running waiting games in the local smartphone market.
The last POVA generation skipped Pakistan entirely, and the gap did not go unnoticed. Requests for the phone's return kept appearing under TECNO's social media posts, in direct messages and in fan communities for two years.
TECNO says that steady, measurable demand is the reason the series is returning — a comeback driven by comments, not by a boardroom calendar.

A phone shaped by its fans

TECNO is framing the return as a direct response to that demand. According to the company, people who owned a POVA kept talking about it, and people who missed the earlier devices kept asking for another chance.
The brand says its social listening kept pointing to the same conclusion: interest in the POVA never faded in Pakistan, so the company decided to bring it home.
That makes the launch unusual. Most mid-range phone launches in Pakistan are scheduled around seasonal lineups or competitor moves. This one is being positioned as an answer to a specific audience that refused to move on — gamers, heavy multitaskers and buyers who want flagship-style performance without a flagship price tag.

'Beauty and Beast' in one body

The phone itself is being pitched around a "Beauty and Beast" theme. The Beauty is in the design: curved glass flowing into a remarkably slim body, with colours chosen to stand out. TECNO has not yet revealed exactly how slim, or which colours Pakistan will get.
The Beast is the durability and endurance underneath. TECNO says the POVA Curve 2 5G is built to handle real-world use in Pakistan — dust, rain, heat and the accidental drop — with all-round environmental protection and drop protection.
Early reports on the global version of the phone, which launched internationally earlier this year, point to a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and a standout 8,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging in a body under 7.5mm thick.
TECNO has not yet confirmed the Pakistan-specific specifications, so the full spec sheet is still a launch-day reveal.

What it means for buyers

Timing matters. With 5G now part of the buying conversation in Pakistan, shoppers looking for a phone to keep for the next few years are increasingly factoring in 5G readiness. The POVA Curve 2 5G enters the market with that box checked from day one.
Pricing is the one detail everyone is watching. TECNO has kept the official price under wraps, but estimates in local media put it in the PKR 110,000 to 120,000 range — placing it firmly in the competitive mid-range segment where rivals will be watching the response closely. More details are expected in the run-up to the October 15 launch.
