Taiwan has emphasized its strategic position in the global semiconductor industry as demand for advanced chips continues to grow rapidly. Speaking at the SEMICON trade show in Taipei, President Lai Ching-te highlighted Taiwan's role as a trusted supplier of semiconductors and called for greater international cooperation across the technology supply chain.

Taiwan remains a critical hub for global chip production, particularly in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The country's technology industry plays an important role in supplying chips used in artificial intelligence systems, smartphones, high-performance computing and data centers.

The issue has also gained greater geopolitical importance as countries work to strengthen and diversify their semiconductor supply chains. Taiwanese companies, including major chip manufacturers, are expanding international investments while Taiwan continues to position itself as a key partner in the global technology ecosystem.

As AI increases global demand for powerful computing hardware, Taiwan's semiconductor industry is expected to remain strategically important to the future of the global technology economy.
