India's next enterprise AI bet is coming from one of its most remote startup hubs. Shamrock AI, an enterprise artificial intelligence startup headquartered in Shillong, Meghalaya, has raised $5 million in seed funding in a round led by Endiya Partners, with participation from Capria Ventures. The round is the company's first institutional investment and values it as one of the more closely watched entrants in India's fast-growing AI software sector.
Founded in 2026 by Sarat Addanki, Michael (Mick) Gallagher and Anuraag Nallapati, the company operates across Shillong, Hyderabad and San Francisco. Unlike consumer-facing AI companies built around chatbots and generative media, Shamrock AI is focused on enterprise software assurance: its platform uses autonomous AI agents to help companies test and validate critical business systems, reducing the risk of errors and disruptions in complex environments.
Selling trust, not chatbots
The company's central argument is that the biggest barrier to enterprise AI adoption is not capability but trust. "For agents to be deployed in production and automate critical processes, the people who are experts in those processes need to trust that the agents will perform as expected, especially when they are supporting billions of dollars in revenue," co-founder and head of product and strategy Anuraag Nallapati told Business Standard.
Shamrock AI's answer is what it calls an agentic assurance platform, anchored by a proprietary Enterprise Business Knowledge Graph. The graph maps relationships between software systems, configurations, data flows and business processes, giving its AI agents the context needed to understand sprawling enterprise environments and carry out validation tasks with greater accuracy.
One of its primary applications is supporting large-scale migrations to SAP S/4HANA, the enterprise resource planning platform that underpins many of the world's largest companies. Shamrock AI's technology conducts automated health checks and identifies inconsistencies across systems in real time, aiming to cut the time, cost and risk of complex software transitions that have traditionally dragged on for months.
Fortune 500 customers — already
For a company founded this year, Shamrock AI's client list is unusually senior. It says it already serves multiple Fortune 500 customers, including a Fortune 100 AI hardware manufacturer and a Fortune 100 healthcare company, which use the platform for large-scale data validation and process assurance.
The economics explain the investor interest: annual contract values typically start at around $200,000 and can exceed $2 million. The company plans to reach about 15 Fortune-500-scale customers by the end of next year, targeting industries including high-tech manufacturing, retail, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, banking and financial services, and fashion and apparel.
The fresh capital will go toward accelerating product development, hiring and maturing the product, followed by sales and marketing. The company expects 70 to 80 percent of its workforce to be based in India, alongside a client-facing team in the United States and a planned expansion into the Middle East.
India's AI seed boom
The raise lands amid a surge in funding for Indian AI startups. According to Inc42, Indian AI startups pulled in $438 million across 35 deals in the third quarter of 2026, up 265 percent year on year. Shamrock AI is betting that as agentic AI moves from pilots to production, the companies that own the testing and validation layer will own the enterprise relationship.
Whether a Shillong-headquartered startup can sell mission-critical assurance software to the world's largest corporations remains the question to watch. But with Fortune 100 logos already on the client roster, it has a head start most seed-stage companies can only dream of.
