Bitdeer AI, the AI cloud arm of Bitdeer Technologies Group (Nasdaq: BTDR), has secured off-take commitments covering more than 70 percent of its 21.7-megawatt A201 data center in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the company announced on September 29.
The bookings lock in more than $1.7 billion in expected revenue over five years for the site alone, underscoring how quickly enterprise demand for high-density AI infrastructure is filling capacity across Southeast Asia.
The announcement takes Bitdeer AI's total expected revenue backlog to approximately $2.9 billion. The A201 facility is scheduled for energization in the first quarter of 2027, meaning customers are committing to capacity well before a single rack has been switched on.

Built for Nvidia's GB300 NVL72 racks

The A201 facility is a liquid-cooled site purpose-built for rack-scale deployments of Nvidia's GB300 NVL72 systems, and a portion of its rack space has been designed to support Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin platform.
To ensure rapid time-to-market once the site is energized, Bitdeer AI has already procured more than 100 racks of GB300 NVL72 systems at market price from an unaffiliated third-party supplier.
Bitdeer AI, a preferred Nvidia Cloud Partner, is positioning itself among the neocloud providers racing to offer GPU capacity directly to enterprises that are struggling to secure compute for training and inference workloads.
Liquid cooling has become a standard requirement for such builds, as rack densities climb far beyond what traditional air-cooled data centers can handle.

350MW target by early 2028

The company says it is targeting up to 350 megawatts of AI cloud data center capacity to be delivered by the first quarter of 2028.
It develops capacity in line with contracted demand and expects to fund the build-out primarily through customer prepayments, operating cash flow, and financing secured against contracted cash flows.
The A201 facility represents 21.7MW of that 350MW target. Together with the recently announced A202 facility, the Johor Bahru campus will deliver 86.8MW of AI cloud data center capacity, making it one of the company's flagship Southeast Asian sites.

Malaysia's AI infrastructure race heats up

Bitdeer AI said its strategy centers on developing high-density AI infrastructure in markets with strong power availability and proximity to fast-growing enterprise AI demand.
Malaysia, and Johor Bahru in particular, has emerged as a regional hotspot for AI data center investment, thanks to abundant land and power relative to neighboring Singapore, which continues to throttle large data center projects.
The pre-sold capacity at A201 mirrors a broader pattern across the industry: with frontier AI models driving relentless demand for compute, data center developers are increasingly contracting out capacity before construction is complete.
For Bitdeer AI, the $2.9 billion backlog gives the company a substantial revenue runway as it pushes toward its 350MW goal within the next 15 months.
