Apple has launched its next-generation Mac mini, introducing the all-new M6 chip and marking a major milestone for Apple Silicon.

The M6 is Apple’s first 2nm processor, featuring a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and a new Dual 16-core Neural Engine designed to significantly accelerate artificial intelligence workloads.

According to Apple, the M6-powered Mac mini delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, up to 4x faster AI performance and up to 2x faster graphics and storage compared with the previous M4 generation.

The chip also supports up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth and includes Neural Accelerators inside every GPU core, allowing developers and creators to run increasingly demanding AI models directly on the Mac.

Apple is offering the new Mac mini in both M6 and M5 Pro configurations. Connectivity upgrades include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet as standard, while higher-end M5 Pro configurations include Thunderbolt 5 support.

The M6 Mac mini starts at $899 in the United States. Pre-orders opened on August 25, with customer deliveries and in-store availability scheduled to begin on September 22, 2026.

The launch strengthens Apple’s push toward running more sophisticated AI workloads locally rather than relying entirely on cloud computing, while the move to a 2nm manufacturing process could provide major improvements in both performance and power efficiency.
